Tony Thakur, the State President of the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), has demanded the immediate resignation of the Union Education Minister and called for a complete ban on the National Testing Agency (NTA). Speaking at a press conference held at the Hamirpur district headquarters, Thakur launched a sharp attack against the operational integrity of the central government, the Ministry of Education, and the NTA regarding the recent NEET-UG exam irregularities.
He highlighted that the frequent occurrence of paper leaks constitutes a direct betrayal of millions of hardworking students who prepare day and night for competitive exams. Thakur pointed out that more than 89 paper leaks have occurred under the current central government’s tenure, describing it as the single biggest failure of India’s education system. He criticized the administration for repeatedly offering empty assurances of investigations and strict actions without ever fixing high-level institutional accountability.
The NSUI State President emphasized that irregularities in a premier national exam like NEET deeply compromise public trust. He stated that if the country’s most vital examinations remain unsafe, it stands as a clear testament to governmental failure. Thakur urged the government to disband the NTA immediately and implement a new, completely transparent testing mechanism. He concluded by stating that the NSUI will continue to act as a nationwide voice for student rights and will not tolerate any compromise regarding the future of the youth.
During the media interaction, accompanying NSUI activists also raised slogans calling for the protection of student rights and demanding exemplary punishment against the paper leak mafia.
