Sidhivinayak taimes Shimla। Panjab University, Chandigarh, through its DST–Technology Enabling Centre (DST-TEC), organised an Industry–Academia Meet titled “Enabling Indigenous Technologies of Haryana” at Gurugram in collaboration with SGT University. The event was held under the Haryana State Support Mission (SSM) of NITI Aayog with the objective of fostering stronger collaboration between academic institutions, industry stakeholders and start-ups across the state. The meet focused on promoting home-grown technologies by identifying industry-specific challenges, encouraging collaborative research, facilitating technology transfer and supporting the commercialisation of innovative solutions. Emphasis was laid on creating a robust ecosystem where research outcomes can be translated into practical, market-ready applications. The inaugural session featured keynote addresses by Dr Vijay Bhalla, Dean – Industry Collaborations and Internship Affairs, and Dr Atul Kumar Nasa, Pro Vice-Chancellor, SGT University, along with Dr Neeru, Joint Director, SJHIFM and Nodal Officer, SSM; Dr Krishna Kanth Pulicherla, Scientist-E, Department of Science and Technology; and Prof Manu Sharma, Coordinator, DST-TEC, Panjab University.

The speakers underscored the importance of sustained industry–academia engagement to accelerate innovation and strengthen regional technological capabilities. Over 50 participants representing industry, academia, start-ups and research organisations took part in the meet. Industry experts shared technological challenges in areas such as Industry 4.0, artificial intelligence, biomedical devices, battery reuse systems, wastewater management and manufacturing automation. In response, academic institutions and start-ups showcased indigenous technologies with strong commercial potential, including AI-driven energy management solutions, plastic waste recycling technologies, carbon fibre products and pharmaceutical innovations. The interactive discussions led to potential opportunities for paid industrial consultancy, collaborative projects and commercial orders for start-ups. The meet concluded with networking sessions and deliberations on future partnerships, reaffirming the organisers’ commitment to advancing innovation-driven growth in Haryana through sustainable industry–academia collaboration.
