In a significant political endorsement, former Chief Minister and Union Minister, Shanta Kumar, has urged voters in Kangra Chamba to support BJP candidate Dr. Rajeev Bhardwaj in the upcoming parliamentary elections. It is to add here that Bjp has ignored its sitting MP, a Gaddi tribe leader, to give ticket to young Brahmin leader Bhardwaj, whereas Congress has yet to announce its candidate for this seat. The polling for this seat shall be conducted on 1st June and the result is slated to be declared on 4th of June.
On the other hand Pradesh Congress Media Panelist Sanjeev Gandhi has condemned the statement of Shanta Kumar as Anand Sharma has given key contributions in the development of the state and district Kangra .
Gandhi Said that Anand Sharma is very popular among the Youngsters of the state / District as they appreciate his Contributions in establishing the various institutes in the state and District Kangra such as NiFT Kangra , IIT Mandi , Triple IIT Una , Hotel Management Institute at Hamirpur , Tea Board at Palampur and Industrial Park at Indora in Kangra District .
Gandhi said that Anand Sharma being a former Union minister and Three time Rajya Sabha member from Himachal is the well established leader of the state and it is absolutely wrong to say that he is an outsider as Anand Sharma has given more contributions to the District Kangra then the previous BJP MP from the Constituency . “People of the area remember Anand Sharma because of his work and made up their mind to ensure his win with a very big margin ,”said Gandhi .
