Chandigarh : A Medical, Juvenile Diabetes Testing and Immunization Camp was organized at Child Care Institutions of U.T, Chandigarh i.e. Snehalaya for Boys & Girls, Aashiana, Specialized Adoption Agency,Observation Home/Special Home/Place of Safety for Boys, from 25-27th October’2023 by the office of Union Territory Child Protection Society under the aegis of the Department of Social Welfare, Women & Child Development, Chandigarh in collaboration with the Department of Health Services, Chandigarh. The saidcamp was organized on the directions of Sh. Nitin Kumar Yadav, Home Secretary-cum-Chairman, UTCPS-cum- Secretary Social Welfare Chandigarh.
During the camp, doctors of different specialties such as ENT, Pediatrics, Medicine, Gynae, Skin were deputed from Govt. Multi-Specialty Hospital, Sector-16, Chandigarh wherein health check-up of 224 children & young adults from After Care Home for Girls & Boys and 14 infants & toddlers of Aashiana, Specialized Adoption Agency was done. Further, Juvenile Diabetes Testing and tetanus immunization was also organized
for children residing therein.
The purpose of organizing the said camp was to provide hassle free medical facilities to children residing in Child Care Institutions of under one roof, to ensure their physical well-being and to prevent them from any chronic illness. The camp has been organized in accordance to the directions received from the Ministry of Women & Child Development, Government of India, Swachhata Campaign 3.0.
