Chandigarh : Inter Departmental Review-cum-Consultative Meeting on Child Rights was held under the Chairmanship of Priyank Kanoongo, Chairman, NationalCommission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR), New Delhi alongwith RupaliBanerjee, Member Secretary, NCPCR, Technical Experts and Consultants of NCPCR. The purpose of the meeting was to review the implementation of Child Care Legislation such as POCSO Act, RTE, Child & Adolescent Labour Prohibition Act; discuss the challenges, good practices and way forward for ensuring effective implementation of Child Rights in U.T., Chandigarh.
The meeting was chaired by. PriyankKanoongo, Chairperson NCPCR and attended by Shipra Bansal, Chairperson, CCPCR; Vinay Pratap Singh, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Chandigarh; . Surinder Kumar, Member Secretary, State Legal Service Authority; Palika Arora, PCS, Director Social Welfare; Sita Devi, Deputy Superintendent of Police; Bisman Ahuja, Program Manager, Union Territory Child Protection Society alongwithDirectors and other officials of various stakeholder such as Education, Health Services, Department of Labour, Police, Technical Education, Social Welfare Department, District Child Protection Unit.
The Chairman, NCPCR appreciated the efforts and dedication of all the stakeholders who are working for care & protection of Children and he also guided to ensure that no child is left behind while implementation of Child Care Legislations and Welfare Schemes.
