Sidhivinayak taimes Shimla। During the Maghi Mela at Sri Muktsar Sahib on January 14, 2026, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched a strong attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab, highlighting issues of drugs, gangsterism, corruption, and deteriorating law and order. Addressing the gathering, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini criticized the Punjab government for failing to fulfill farmers’ promises, contrasting it with Haryana’s “double-engine” governance model. BJP leaders, including National General Secretary Tarun Chugh, Punjab President Sunil Jakhar, and Union Minister Anurag Thakur, paid homage to the 40 Muktas and accused AAP and Congress leaders of disrespecting Sikh traditions, mismanaging welfare schemes, and ignoring public safety.
