Attacking the Chief Minister over serious charges of allegations raised against Bhagwant Mann’s closest family members, the Punjab BJP President Sunil Jakhar on Wednesday demanded a Court-monitored probe to ascertain truth in a time bound manner. ‘Sheetal Angural has done what all Congress MLAs could not dare to because of their own corrupt misdeeds, Jakhar said here while addressing a press conference here at Press Club and added that there must be a thorough investigation to bring our truth about these allegations.
Jakhar had, while referring to these allegations of corruption, had also tweeted that, “As serious charges have been levelled against his family members,Chief Minister Sh @BhagwantMann must remember – Caesar’s wife must be above suspicion!” Castigating the AAP leadership for plunging the state into a den of corruption in the last 2 and half years of its misrule, Jakhar said that people of Punjab are now fed up with the corrupt ways of AAP leaders.
Their corruption leads from the top and that is why today most of their leadership is behind bars, Jakhar said asking the Chief Minister to take suo moto notice of these allegations and institute an enquiry as allegations involve his own family members and reputation of his family is at stake. Reacting to a media query, Jakhar said Warring by raising the issue of justice for Moosewala had done a formality only as the Cong leader himself knows law and order is a state subject and his I.N.D.I. alliance partner AAP in Punjab must ensure justice to family.
“Why Warring has been silent for the last 2 and half years and has not dared to raise the same issue in Punjab Vidhan Sabha, Jakhar asked pointing to fear psychosis prevailing amongst Congress MLAs in Punjab to ask any question from the government.” On continuous drug overdose deaths, Jakhar questioned the Chief Minister for failure to control the drug trade proliferating in the state. Even the AAP’s Jalandhar West candidate has now openly admitted he knows who patronises drug mafias in Punjab, but alas only the CM chooses to remain ignorant while our youngsters die each day, Jakhar said.
There have been 4 deaths in Bathinda in last 8 days due to drug overdose and earlier there was news of 14 deaths in 14 days, yet this regime fails to wake up. “All the CM could do was to order a transfer of 10,000 cops that too to take credit, Jakhar said adding that the DGP later ended up negating the same claim thereby exposing the seriousness of CM’s intent and statements to curb drug menace.
