Shimla:BJP leader and MLA Sudhir Sharma launched a sharp attack on the Chief Minister over his recent statements made during the Assam visit, alleging that the Congress government is misleading the people and presenting a “fictional image of Himachal far removed from reality” across the country.
Sudhir Sharma said that the Chief Minister claimed in Assam that there is no financial crisis in the state, that salaries and pensions are being paid on time, and that the promised ₹1,500 financial assistance is being provided to all women above 18 years, as well as to men above 59 years of age.
Taking a dig, he remarked, “If everything is truly so perfect, why are people in Himachal repeatedly coming out on the streets?”
He further pointed out the contradiction within the government, stating that while the Chief Minister is making tall claims of making Himachal self-reliant by 2027 and the richest state by 2032, the Deputy Chief Minister himself has termed these claims as impractical and unachievable.
“Two voices within the same government—this is not governance, but confusion and contradiction,” he said.
Sharma alleged that wherever elections are held, the Chief Minister portrays a misleading picture of Himachal, whereas the ground reality within the state is entirely different.
“This government operates on the formula of ‘say one thing, do another, and show something else,’” he added in a sharp political remark.
He further accused the government of allowing administrative and political systems to function without accountability, thereby encouraging corruption under its patronage.
“On the surface, they claim development; internally, the system is collapsing—this is the true face of the Congress government,” he stated.
In conclusion, Sudhir Sharma urged the people of Himachal Pradesh to carefully compare the Chief Minister’s statements over time with the actual situation on the ground. He asserted that the truth will become evident on its own.
He added that the BJP will take these issues to the people and expose what he termed as the government’s “misleading propaganda” versus the “actual ground reality.”
