Sidhivinayak taimes Shimla। The Punjab Circle’s second N-Gen themed Post Office was inaugurated at PGIMER, Sector-12, Chandigarh, marking a significant step towards modernising public service delivery while preserving institutional legacy. The revamped facility was formally opened by Prof. (Dr.) Vivek Lal, Director, PGIMER, in the presence of senior officials from the Department of Posts and PGIMER. The initiative aims to transform the traditional Post Office into a vibrant, technology-enabled and youth-friendly space that resonates with the expectations of the younger generation. Addressing the gathering, Prof. Vivek Lal underscored the enduring trust and human connection associated with India Post, stating that despite rapid digital advancements, the commitment and reliability of postal services remain unmatched. He encouraged students to engage more closely with the institution and draw inspiration from its core values of service, perseverance and credibility.

Senior postal officials highlighted that the N-Gen concept reflects the Department of Posts’ vision to evolve with changing times while staying rooted in public service. Designed especially for students, the N-Gen Post Office at PGIMER offers a contemporary and welcoming environment equipped with digital payment facilities, Wi-Fi connectivity, student discounts on Speed Post services, comfortable workspaces and recreational features. More than a service centre, the facility has been envisioned as a collaborative and interactive space for young users. The inauguration witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and staff, symbolising strong institutional collaboration and reaffirming India Post’s commitment to remain relevant, accessible and people-centric in the digital age.
