Sidhivinayak time’s: Shimla The Oral Health Sciences Centre (OHSC) at PGIMER, Chandigarh, has recently garnered notable national recognition for its outstanding contributions to dental education, research, and public health. At the Indian Orthodontic Society Conference held in Visakhapatnam from November 28 to 30, 2025, Prof. S.P. Singh, Professor and Head of the Centre, was honoured with the Outstanding Professor Award, while Dr. Sanjeev Verma, Additional Professor in the Unit of Orthodontics, was re-elected to the Executive Committee for a third consecutive term. The Unit of Orthodontics also secured two prestigious research awards, underscoring its strong academic and clinical presence.

Meanwhile, at the IAPHD National Conference in Mangaluru, Dr. Arpit Gupta, Additional Professor in the Unit of Public Health Dentistry, received the Mani Bhagyalakshmi IAPHD Silver Jubilee Endowment Award for the highest national research output in Public Health Dentistry. Dr. Nishant Mehta, Associate Professor in the same unit, was recognized with the Best Paper Award for his innovative research on tobacco cessation. These accolades reflect OHSC’s continued commitment to excellence in clinical innovation, cutting-edge research, and public health initiatives.
